The inspiration for this idea was my daughter, Jurnee-Aʼmour. Here she is on the right.
We came across a few issues when Jurneeʼs first tooth fell out. How much was the tooth worth? How much was too much? In the end, we figured $2 would be enough and since it was gold, it would be better than receiving paper money.
We found it was very exciting for the first day and then it lost its value very quickly. We would find it lying all over the house, in the dinning room, in the bathroom, even in the car... I figured although it had come from the ʻTooth Fairyʼ, it was still only money.
So I spent a couple days looking for an alternative...Tooth pillows and tooth canisters looked great, but they weren't that memorable. I figured, they were still getting money, which for my 5 year old, doesnʼt really mean a lot. After not finding anything, I decided to create my own.
When we... The Tooth Fairy delivered the first coin to our daughter, her eyes lit up and her smile went from ear to ear, she was sooo excited. She carried it with her everywhere, shared the news with everyone that would listen and would put it in a safe place so she always knew where it was.
The great thing about it is we now have a beautiful keepsake, we know which tooth she lost and when, something sheʼll be able to show and share with her children when they lose their teeth.
We hope you get as much enjoyment out of it as we have with our little princess.
Warmest Regards,
The Straker Family
